Oliver, who with her husband spent the winter in Deer River, died Thursday at the home of her son, Edw. Oliver, in Little Sauk township. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver, former residents of Iona and Leslie townships, retired from active farming last fall. The winter was spent with a daughter at Deer River, and only a short time ago they came to Little Sauk to visit their son. Mrs. Oliver, who had not been in the best of health, was stricken with pneumonia which resulted in her death after a four day illness. Ida Lake, daughter of Jeff and Martha Lake, was born in southern Minnesota November 29, 1867. In an early day she came to this country and on November 29, 1884, was married in Iona township to Jos. Oliver. They continued to make this county their home and for many years were well known residents of Leslie. Surviving her death are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Ethel Halstead of Deer River, Earl and Arthur Oliver of Hill City, Maggie Hamlin of Minneapolis, Edward Oliver of Little Sauk, Mrs. Florence Morrow of Vernon Center and Mrs. Ada Fox (Tax) of Osakis. Two children, Joseph and Eva, preceded the mother in death. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jess Runjan of Verndale and Mrs. C.O. Debolt of this village. Twenty six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive. Funeral services, which were very largely attended, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the U.B. church in Leslie with Rev. Wallace Olson officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery with Harry Nelson, August Bokinskie, Leslie Weishair, Lyle Weishair, Wm. Dryer and Nathan Harmon as pallbearers." The death certificate of Ida D. Oliver gives her place of burial as U.B. Church Cemetery, Clotho. This was the United Bretheran church, which is no longer in existence. The cemetery is now known as Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
