HALSETH LONG RESIDENT OF CITY, IS DEAD - Had Been Seriously Ill At Daughter's Home For Week - Was 49 Years old - Funeral Will Be Held At Congregational Church Thursday - Harold Bernard Halseth, 49, passed away at 12:20 this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Simonet. He had been in ill health for some time but his condition was not considered serious until a week ago when he suffered a severe hemorrhage of the stomach. Death was due to ulcers of the stomach. He was born in Namsos, Norway, October 13, 1878 and came to the United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Halseth, when 12 years of age. The family settled in Glenwood, where they resided for a year and then moved to Little Falls. His marriage to Elizabeth Hanson took place in Park Falls, Wis., March 4, 1899, and they made their home in that city for a year and then took up residence in Little Falls. Mrs. Halseth died November 29, 1927. Mr. Halseth was engaged in the electrical business here for many years, being employed by the Little Falls Water Power company and in 1919 entering business for himself. His first shop was located in the Vasaly block and a couple of years ago the business was moved to its present location on First street northeast. Surviving are the father, Iver Halseth, and two children, Mrs. Arthur Simonet and Roland Halseth, all of this city. Brothers and sisters of the deceased include John, Bemidji; Hans, Rattlesnake, Mont.; Mrs. Carl Anderson, Dutton, Mont. and Mrs. John Flack of this city. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and 2:30 at the Congregational church, Rev. Paul J. Bockoven officiating. The Masonic lodge of which Mr. Halseth was a member, will be in charge of the services. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery."
