a. Note:   Death notice of Emeline (Twichell) Conklin appearing in The Sussex (New Jersey) Register on Thursday, March 26, 1908: " DIED, CONKLIN - March 18, at the home of her son, in Vernon Township, Emeline Twitchell, widow of Peter H. Conklin, aged 83 years and 10 months".
  Obituary of Mrs. Emeline Conklin, appearing in the Sussex (New Jersey) Independent, Friday, March 20, 1908: "Mrs. Emeline Conklin died at the residence of her son, George W. Conklin, near the Independent school house, in Vernon township, Wednesday, aged eighty-four years. She was the widow of Peter H. Conklin, who died about fourteen years ago. Deceased was born near Lackawaxen, Pa. and her maiden name was Twitchell. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eveline Devore of Port Jervis, and six children; John L. and Mrs. Samuel Robinson, of Sussex; Mrs. Sarah J. McCann, of Hamburg; George W. of Vernon township; Mrs. Mary L. Romines of Colesville, and Peter. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Independent school house. Interment in Papakating Cemetery".
