Note:   Obituary of Mrs Evelyn Devore, Milford Dispatch, Milford, Pike County, Pennsylvania, Thursday, January 11, 1912, page 1: "Mrs Evelyn Twitchell Devore, more than 87 years of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Hubbard, in this village, last Wednesday night at 10:30 o'clock. Mrs. Devore was born May 25, 1824 near Sussex, N.J. Eight children survive her as follows: Mrs. Harriet Sylcox of Newton, N.J.;Watson Devore of St. Paul, Minnesota; William H. Devore of Mondolia, Wisc.; Mrs. Mary Hubbard of Milford; Lewis Devore of Matamoras; Mrs. Jane Hennion of Ogdensburg, N.J.; Susan Whaley of Hastings, Minn,; and Mrs. Nealy Mastmore of Ogdensburg, N.J. There is also surviving 42 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the house on Friday evening, Rev. B. McMickle officiating and the following morning, the sixth, in charge of Undertaker Wood, where taken to Sparta, N.J. for interment."

She was born May 25, 1824, in Wantage township, and is survived by 8 children as follows: Mrs. Harriet Sylcox, of Newton; Watson Devore, of St. Paul, Minn.; Wm. H. Devore, of Mondolia, Wis.; Mary Hubbard, of Milford, Pa.; Lewis Devore, of Matamoras; Mrs. Jane Hennion, of Ogdensburg; Susan Whaley, of Hastings, Minn., and Mrs. Nealy Mastmore, of Ogdensburg. There also survive 42 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren."
  Obituary of Mrs. Evelyn Devore, Port Jervis Union, Port Jervis, N.Y., Friday, January 12, 1912, page 1: "Mrs. Evelyn Twitchell Devore died at the home of her daughter at Milford, Pa., on January 3, 1912, aged 87 years. After a prayer service at the home on Friday, the body was taken to Sparta, N.J., where funeral services were held in the M.E. church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Kinney. Interment took place in the cemetery at that place. The casket was carried to the grave by six of Mrs. Devore's grandsons: John and Jacob Leman, Samuel and Will Henion, Ira and Louis Casmore. Mrs. Devore is survived by eight children, 42 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Among those in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. and Mrs. Lewis Devore of Matamoras. The former is a son of the deceased."
