Notes
a. Note:   Obituary for Mrs. Eliza McBride, Mazeppa Tribune, December 26, 1906: "Elizabeth McBride passed away at her home in Mt. Pleasant Sunday morning, Dec. 16th, after an illness extending over a period of two or three years of heart trouble. The immediate cause of death was apoplexy. Elizabeth McDonough was born in Sherbourne, N.Y. in 1845 and lived there until about 14 years of age when with her parents she came west and settled in Wabasha County. She has lived here continuously ever since and in common with other early settlers passed through all the joys and sorrows of a pioneer life. Thirty-two years ago she was united in marriage to William McBride who died in 1886. Besides a brother and sister she is survived by five children: Mrs. Kate McDonough, Wheatland, N.D.; W.J. McBride of Montana; William, Anna, and Agnes, of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Hugh Darcy of this village. Mrs. McBride, by her womanly virtues, her upright life and her unselfish devotion to her children and friends has left a memory that never can be effaced to those that knew and loved her well. The funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic Church at Lake City and were attended by a large circle of friends and relatives."
