McBride, Lake City Graphic, Lake City, MN, Thursday, February 20, 1958, page 6: "McBRIDE RITES HELD TUESDAY - High mass was conducted in St. Mary's Catholic church here Tuesday morning for William H. McBride, Sr., 79, former Lake City resident, who died February 14 after a short illness. Father Henry Russell officiated with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Mr. McBride was born January 15, 1879, in Mt. Pleasant township, and had lived in Lake City until five years ago when he moved to Minneapolis to make his home with his son, William Jr., and family. Mrs. McBride died in 1937. He had served as rural mail carrier here from 1909 until 1942 when he retired. In addition to William Jr., Mr. McBride is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Harold Sering, Libertyville, Ill., and Miss Mary McBride, Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Anna McKenzie, Minneapolis, and Mrs, Edward McDonough, Madison, Wis., and five grandchildren."
