a. Note:   N210 !Settled on south bank of Oswegatchie River , 6 miles upriver towards Morristown.from Ogdensburg in 1800. Spent several years at Fort Ann before coming to farm. He was a farmer, blacksmith, founding trustee of 2nd Presbyterian church of Oswegatchie in 1831. Signer of 8 Feb 1802 petition to N.Y. legislature to form St. Lawrence County. Served as grand juror when the court was in general session. Served as Captain in War of 1812 in charge of a company of Militia. His first house was of cedar logs close to river and a later home was built on the highway. The log cabin was moved to become the kitchen of the new house.
