May 1640. He d. 23 June 1660, hav. made his will 4 July 1655, provid. for his w. s. James, and ds. Ann Jones, w. of Matthew, Mary Brooks, and Sarah King. The wid. in her will of 20 July 1662, pro. 1 May foll. doubts if s. James ever come, names gr.ch. William King, and his mo. Sarah, who had m. Roger Burgiss, and admin. was giv. to Robert Lattimore, who had m. the d. Ann Jones. James was presumed, in 1665, being many yrs. unheard of, to he d. The male descend. failed at once.   The following is an abstract of the will of George Griggs:
 George Griggs of Boston. Will. 4: 5 mo. 1655. Being now sicke; make my wife Alice, executrix, &. doe giue hir my house & ground, with all ye appurces & ye two acres of land at Long Island, be it more or lesse, as also my household stuffe, dureing her life. After ye decease of my wife it is my will yt my sonne, James Griggs, shall have ye house & ground, with the 2 acres of land at Long Island, he paying out or it to my dau, Anne Joanes, £5; to my dau. Mary Brookes, 40s.; & to my dau. Sarah King, 10£, I giue ynto James, a feather bed & boulster, a blankett & coverlid, yt is greene & white, after his mothrs dceasa.. I alo giue him all my working tools at my present decease. 4th July 55.
