Note: The papers that Johann Friederich brought from Germany state that Jochim Friedrich Thiess was a resident of Horst and that he was deceased at the time the papers were written. The death certificate of Jochim Friedrich Thiess son Johann Friederich Thies states that his father's name was Fred.
According to the birth record of his first son Johann Friedrich, Jochim was a resident of Horst at the time of the birth of Johann Friedrich (Jan 24, 1841).
The death record at Brunow (Nov 12, 1863) also lists him as a resident of Horst.
