a. Note:   He was a Baptist minister. Records of Calvary Baptist Church volume 1 says his death date is 27 Oct 1864 and he was pastor of this church located in Bayou Chicot, which is now in Evangeline parish, LA. He and his brother Peter are mentioned on several pages in "A History of Baptist French Missions in South Louisiana" by Arnold F. Nelson c. 1994, privately published, no publishing company listed. Some listings in the book give this information: 1) 1821- two brothers Peter William Robert and Baynard Cheney Robert were ordained to the Baptist ministry by the Bayou Sale Church. 2) 1824- six of the ten Baptist ministers west of the Mississippi were in So. Louisiana among them, Peter Robert and Baynard Robert. 3) 1833- Peter Robert moved to New Orleans. Baynard Robert & Joseph Willis moved to Rapides parish. 4) 1845- Baynard Robert was the missionary for the association. He had been appointed first in 1844. 5) 1845- B.C. Robert was chairman of a committee that presented an "Abstract of Faith". 6) 1849- B.C. Robert had the responsibility of making a report on the state of the churches. Baynard Robert as an evangelist traversed the whole region from Alexandria to the Gulf, and laid the foundation of many churches. 7) 1863- the ordained ministers of that year were: B.C.Robert, Bayou Chicot and others.
