Probate for Martha and Baynard dated Feb 1865. #2673. Marr. Cert. There appears to be 5 children of this couple. Can identify only three. Census St. Landry, LA for 1850, 1860. Appears in 1850 census St. Landry a second time as Emilie. In 1820 St. Mary's, LA census there is one mark for a female child under the age of 10. In 1830 St. Mary's, LA census there is a mark for a male "of 20 but under 30" (unknown if this is a cousin or brother, it is not a child of Baynard), a male "of 30 and under 40" this would be Baynard, also in house is female under 5 and 1 female "of 20 and under 30" this would be Martha as she would not be 30 yet. The female under 5 is another daughter. It would appear that the first 2 daughters did not live long. The son William C. should be listed as "under 5". The male 10-15 could be Gabriel, the male 40-50 would be Baynard, the female under 5 would be Sarah Louisa, the female 30-40 would be Martha E.
