a. Note:   Harley was born in Salina, Okla. He lived in Colorado and Texas before his family resettled in Richmond, Ray Co., Missouri, the ance stral home. The family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho during Harley's teen y ears where he graduated from high school in 1931. From there they moved to Wallowa, Ore. and finally to Salem in 1935, where he eventually met and married his wife of 63 years. . Harley and Helen attended the First Christian Church in Salem for ma ny decades. Harley worked as a carpenter for Morrow Construction until his 60th year and then worked as an agent at Rawlins Real Estate until he retired. Harley was especially proud of his service as a marine durin g WWII. Enlisting at 28 years of age, he was known as 'Pops' in the barr acks. . Helen Constance Hamilton died on June 24, 2003.
