The American Ancestors of George Newton Bullard and Mary Eli Bullard, Detroit, Michigan: 1930 Page 103 OSBORN (Family No. 2) THOMAS OSBORN, an early settler in New Haven, Connecticut, and perhaps brother of Capt. Richard Osborn of New Haven and Fairfield, removed to Easthampton, Long Island, but turned his New Haven property over to his son JEREMIAH. (New Haven Town Records, Vol. 1, Page 472.) Deed dated May 17, 166 SECOND GENERATION JEREMIAH OSBORN, son of Thomas Osborn, died at New Haven, April 26, 1676; m. Mary, surname unknown, who died in 1695 (New Haven Probate Records). Jeremiah served as Deputy for New Haven to the Connecticut General Court, at several sessions; was appointed Corporal of the New Haven trainband, April, 1667, and Sergeant, June, 1671. He also served as Selectman and town treasurer (Conn. Col. Rec. Vol. 2; New Haven Town Rec. Vol. 2). Children of Jeremiah and Mary Osborn, all born in New Haven: I--Jeremiah, b. May 3, 1652; d. THIRD GENERATION JOSEPH OSBORN (IX), son of Jeremiah and Mary Osborn, born at New Haven, Connecticut, December 15, 1667; d. there November 19, 1735; m. Mary, daughter of James and ................ (Joy) Bennett of Stratfield; she d. in 1737. The will of Lieut. Bennett calls her Mary Osborn, and a conveyance given by some of her children and recorded in Fairfield, proves that she must have been the wife of Joseph Osborn of New Haven and mother of his children.
