"While a resident of Middlesex Co., Jeremiah Ten Eick volunteered and served in the Revolutionary War as a lieutenant in the NJ Troops; he was in the battle of Monmouth. In 1778 he was commissioned captain and served until the close of the war in 1783. He stated that his service amounted to between three and four years.
