In Folder 8, there is a manuscript written by John Hugo Adams Jr., "Some Outline of Family Adams," 1979. The portion about himself are below. "Don Hugo Adams Jr. (1918 - 1985) Don Jr. was born in San Antonio, Tex., 12/1/1918, and was raissed and went to school in and around Houston and LaPorte, graduating from LPHS in 1935. He went to Alameda, Cal., in 1936, went two quarters to Stanford University before flunking out, and then worked for the Alameda Times-Star, a daily newspaper owned by his Uncle Helim Spaulding, until 1939. After a year at home, he went for a year to what is now Sam Houston State in Huntsville, and had returned for his second year when he was drafted in 1941. After his return from the Aleutian Islands, he married Margot Alice Lyons 6/1/1944 in Carmel, Cal. After his discharge in 1945, he was in federal personnel work for several agencies in San Francisco. In 1960 he went into data processing and transferred to the Washington DC area. After a 27-month tour in Buenos Aires as a data processing adviser to the Argentine Treasury, he retired in 1972, and he and Margot returned to Marin County, Cal.
