Notes
a. Note:   1st message through Ancestry: Hello Barbara, I recently started researching the Bockus family, ancestors of my grandchildren and I came across your tree. I have to tell you how impressed I was with the wonderful job you did, not only with the depth of family, but with documenting the facts. I have been doing genealogy for over 40 years as a hobby. It is very unusual to find such a well documented tree. All the work you put into this tree shows that it was a labor of love. My grandchildren are decendents of Jasper Leeland Bockus, son of George Allen Bockus. On behalf of them I would like to say; Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Lorene ________________________ Lorene Finn <[email protected]> to [email protected] Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 11:32 PM Hi Barbara, You have Jasper Leeland Bockus as “Joseph Leland Bockus” son of George Allan and Permila Mabel Ross. Jasper Leeland went by the name Leeland in most of the records that I have found. On his birth and Baptism record in the Drouin Collection he is Jasper Leeland In the 1891 Canadian census for Bedford Township, Missiquoi Quebec he is listed as Jasper. In the WWI Draft Registration he is listed as Leeland and in the 1920 census in Lynn, Mass. He is Leeland. He was born 11/15/1886 in Mystic, Quebec and baptized on July 18, 1890 in the Methodist church in Stanbridge, Missiquoi, Quebec. He married Laura Katie Dow of Bridgetown Maine before 1909 and died in Lynn Massachusetts in November of 1927. He’s buried in Pine Grove Cemetary Lynn, MA Plot-1 Lot-220, Grave-1. I will be happy to share with you anything I have on this family.
