Notes for ADA EMMA COREY: The News and Eastern Townships advocate apr 30, 1964 The death of Mrs. George Bockus took place on April 9th at Bedford Quebec after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bockus was born in Stanbridge East in 1881 and lived all her long life in this district including Dunham, Mystic and Stanbridge East. She was the former Ada Emma Corey. She was predeceased by her husband George on Nov 27, 1962, and is survived by six children. (Hilda) Mrs. Lloyd Harris of Bedford, Raymond of Vernon BC., (Ruby) Mrs Edgeley of Hartford CT. (Dorothy) Mrs. Morley Cuckerline of Stanbridge Ridge, Charles of Stanbridge East, Lynn of Los Angelos CA. a sister Mrs. Mason of Lowell MA, A brother James Corey of Mystic. A number of grand-children and great-grandchildren. A sister Edna Corey, Lowell MA died in 1963. The funeral service was held on Sunday at 2:30 PM from the Dion Funeral Parlor Bedford, to the Stanbridge East United Church of which Mrs. Bockus was for many years a member. Rev. Peter Macaskill officiated. The choir sang "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Raymond Westcott at the organ. The bearers were Messrs. Donald Skolliker, Wesley Gage, Neal Creller, Douglas Sherrer of Stanbridge East and Emilo Bedard and Allan Palmer of Bedford. Interment in the Mystic Cemetery. ---------------- Flora J. Page 9 shows her as marrying George Bockus 1885-1967 and her dates as 1882-1958 but the daughter of Irvine Bockus. I believe this should be Ada Corey who married George Eugene (Allen) Bockus on page 4 - with her dates of 1881-1964. On page 14 shows Ada 1882-1958 (daughter of Irvine Bockus and Anne Webb marrying George Bockus 1st cousins. Page 12 shows Children of Geo and Ada Bockus (1st cousins). I think the Ada Bockus on page 4 (daughter of George and Permillia) is the only place she should be listed. I could be wrong, and I attached the pages I think shows you want I mean."
