Note: Brenda Merriman <email@example.com> 12/1/12 to Barbara.trees4u Hi Barbara: I've been meaning to get in touch with you but life interferes, haha. It's to do with your October 24th post "Independent and Not Corrupted." You have William Westover's (2nd) wife as Catherine Hostetter born 29 July 1785 in NS, d/o Herman. That may be the extent of your Hostetter information but I thought I'd ask anyway: I have an interest (not my personal family) in Herman Hostetter of Grantham Township--probably Catherine's brother--who married Catharine Carroll at St Mark's Church, Niagara, on 13 June 1827. Or I should say my interest is really the Carrolls. The early life of Catharine Carroll's mother Dorcas Vanalstine Porter Carroll is still a mystery and I grasp at any straws! Any chance you have additional information on Hostetter marriage connections? Even confirming Dorcas' name as the mother would be very helpful.
