Continued: The one page will of Marietta Adams provided a wealth of information. She was married to Charles W. Adams, but I knew nothing of her family or even her maiden name. Because of the names on the will, I began putting the males into Ancestry, then the females and before I knew it, I had not only her surname of Sprague, but of just about the entire family. Below this Amanuensis, is a descendant chart with the new names. The names in green were named in her will. "Stafford Jan. 24th 1899 I Marietta Adams of the town of Stafford being of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and testament -- After paying my just debts and funeral expenses--I give to my nephew Fred Blood the Farm known as the Eddy Adams Farm. And the Balance of my property I want to have divided between my Brothers Henry and David and my sister Sarah Blood; And Earl and Ora Sprague Alvin Sprague Frank Sprague and Alice Bradfield said nephews and nieces to have the amount divided between them that would have been their fathers if they had been living. I mean by this to divide said balance into five equal parts. My Brothers and Sister three parts--nephews and nieces mentioned above two parts. I also request that the Cemetery lot be endowed." _________________ Surrogate's Court STATE OF NEW YORK}-SS : GENESEE COUNTY}-SS : Be it Remembered, That on the day of the date hereof the last Will and Testament of Marietta Adams late of the town of Stafford, in the County of Genesee, deceased, being the foregoing written instrument, was upon due proof admitted to probate in the Surrogate's Court of said County, according to law as a valid Will to pass Real and Personal Property, which said last Will and Testament and the proofs and examination taken thereon, are recorded in the Surrogate's Office of said County, in Volume 26 of Wills, on pages 13 - 16 inclusive.
