The mother died several years after the move, and Jacob married again--this time to Rhoda Pelton, and it is from this marriage that the Canadian branch of the family derives." Carolyn cariboo2@verizon.net to me show details Mar 10 (4 days ago) Hi Barb, My name is Carolyn Wells, and I am not sure if we have corresponded in the past regarding the Scramlin/Hess/Rouse line or not. My 2nd great grandfather (Caleb James Wells) was married to Elizabeth Scramlin in Momence, Kankakee Co., IL. He was also (after Elizabeth died) married to Elmina Hess. So I have a lot of Scramlin/Hess relations in my tree. I correspond with some Hess' in Kankakee Co now. Regarding the Hess/Rouse family, you mentioned in Rootsweb that you didn't think they had any children. Being Jacob and Rhoda were married in 1831 in Canada, I have a Rhoda Hess b. 8/17/1833 in Ontario and also a Jacob Hess b. 4/11/1835 in Ontario. Didn't check to see when you sent out that Rootsweb message, but perhaps since then you have come across these children of Jacob's & Rhoda's. Would love to correspond. Sincerely, Carolyn Wells
