a. Note:   oert lineage and where our lineage crosses. Jacob Van Woert and Sara (Van Ness) Van Woert are my 3rd great grandparents and I am descended from their son Jacob. I have only been researching my family for the last 4 years but have it tied in this far. I obtained help from Mary Van Woert Chyene once I obtained my great grand father Joseph Young Van Woert's death certificate that tied the missing link for me. I would be interested in sharing with you if interested. Duane Van Woert ____ Barbara, I will be happy to share what I have on my line with you. I am a sloppy documenter so it may take me a couple of days to put it together so that it will make sense but I will send you more information soon. I do not have as much about my Jacob as I would like but I do have information on land exchanges in New your and I have a complete listing of his children thanks to a cousin that researched the family line in the 70's. My father died in 1993 and was the source of for my earliest knowledge. Somewhere between Jacob and my great grandfather Joseph the family ties were strained and my grandfather and father did not know anything about Jacob. My grandfather was the youngest child and I am finding that many of the family stories he told came from the Van Vorst side. I first discovered Our common ancestor Jacob and Sara through writings on the Young family of the Mohawk Valley. When I found out my great grandfather Joseph's middle name was Young , I was sure there was a connection but ot took awhile to find. I took a shot and ordered his death certificate from Michigan and when I received it his parents were listed as Jacob and Helen (Winn) Van Woert. With some help this tied them back to New York. My cousin that had done earlier research had a copy of Jacob's probate and Helen's will that I have not yet been able to find (this cousin is older and has memory problems so is no longer a good source). I do have a photo copy of our common Jacob's Will that listed my Jacob (living in Michigan) as one of his children. ____ Barbra, Here is the Key document I have connecting my family line to Jacob and Sara (Van Ness) Van Woert. I do have additional information on my line for following generations. As I get closer to my generation the information increases. I do have family group sheets that my cousin Peggy prepared through my fathers generation. As my great grandfather Joseph's family comes to life, pictures of family members also appear. My greatgreat grandmother Helen (Winn) Van Woert's family is a blank for me, as I do not have her parents names. I am suspicious that her fathers name was John Winn as he is listed as a grantor of property to Jacob in the Town of Huntsville in 1825, and that she had 2 sisters named Katherine and Ann Winn as they were granted property by Jacob and Helen in 1836 which would be about the time they moved to Michigan. I will quit for now, after you see this we can talk about other information on my line you would be interested in. Hopefully you will have some information that will lead me to new finds. Let me know if any of the pictures/scans below are not readable for you. I also hope this message is not to large for your emil system.
