Notes
a. Note:   Lucy Z <[email protected]> 8:41 AM June 27, 2016 to Barbara.Trees4u Barbara..Just saw your page with the Scramblin info from michigan Census’. I am descended from Orin Scramblin ( that is how he spelled it..earlier generations Scrambling, among other spellings), thru daughter Pearl, who was my g-grandmother. We had always heard that Olive Jane McBride ( Orin’s wife) was impregnated by a neighbor as a young girl, and Pearl was the result, but Orin married Olive within the year. This record seems to show Janette the oldest child, , not Pearl..and the marriage taking place during Janette’s birth year...anything further you can add? Thanks ..will reprint your page below.. Pearl married John Lowe, the old Lowe farm is built over now, but Lowe Road is part of the city of Jackson, michigan. Lewis was born in Jackson Co..not Ingham Co..see below.. (a twin to Clarena, by some records..she seems to have disappeared..died young?) I do have Scramblin(g) line back to Hendrick Schrembling b. 1664 Germany ( very limited info) if that is something you do not have.. My Ancestry account is due to expire any day now, but got this connection to you by googling Michigan census records..pretty amazing , isn’t it? Lucy Zeldenrust ( born Jackson Co 1944), Two Rivers, Wisconsin [email protected] My response: Hi Lucy, Thanks so much for writing, and I believe your method of locating my information was a little unusual, but I’m glad you followed through and found it. I believe I get the most queries from people who do google searches, then find my genealogy/history blog or some people go directly to RootsWeb. Funny, but I also let my Ancestry drop, on June 14th, but will renew when the fall comes. It’s so darn expensive! My blog link is: (scroll down the right-hand side to Surnames: Scrambling / Scramlin, and then there is Scramlin (which I need to combine into the previous one, darn). As you saw from my information, I didn’t have Pearl married, so I added in her husband…do you have the next two generations you could share with me? I’m wondering what our relationship is? Did you see where I had a different last name for Olive Jane? Any idea what that is about? Yes, I have Lewis being born birth date: 12 Jul 1884 birthplace: Summit, Jackson, Michigan, as a matter of fact, I have the whole record to it, guess this is a good time to do it. Gotta LOVE those Michigan records!! I’ve been working on this line for about 17 years, but haven’t done anything with it in ages, other than add new information sent from readers. My blog had a ton of information, and we have lots of distant cousins. I went to Henry’s burial site in Oneonta, NY in 1999 (I think.) Photos are on the blog. We can write more, but this is an introduction…and I have groceries to buy. I was born a year before you and live in Massachusetts.
