Martha Aletta Anderson (1826-1886) "Martha was born 9/13/1826, according to family records, and this agrees with the 1850 census (but with the 1860 census, which shows her three years younger). Both records show her state of birth as New Jersey, although her birthplace is also indicated as Germantown, Pa. Pending further research, both are noted because her father moved about considerably." She died 5/12/1886 of consumption, but is not buried at Stafford. After the death of her husband, Liberty Adams, in 1867, she took the family to Baraboo, Wis., near her father, and may have died there." Federal Census for Martha Anderson Adams and family: 1870 Liberty deceased. Wife Martha is 43 and living with son John A. in Penfield, Michigan. Son Yates is 8 years old. 1880 Martha is living in Battle Creek, Michigan. Son Yates is 18 years old.
