When John II was in Nashville, one reference to him states that he was from Halifax County, North Carolina. He was born 1772, NC, married 9 Jan 1793, in Wilkes Co. NC, Elizabeth Carrell. John was in Nashville by 1798, probably earlier, and at least owned land in what is now Whitley, when it was Knox Co. He was quite the gadder. Left there and moved to Tennessee in 1820. His wife was Catherine Farmer also born in North Carolina. Do you know anything about your Jesse? Did he grow up and have a family?
