a. Note:   Original member of the Somerset County Historical Society and a contributor. Somerville Democrat, Somerville NJ Sept 12, 1919, Issue , page 4, Column 6 N.M.P. Durling, aged 79 years, died at his home on First Avenue, Raritan, on Monday Morning. He fell from a ladder while painting a house some few weeks ago and after receiving treatment for a while at Someset Hospital was taken to his home where he suffered from his injuries until his death. The funeral services were held from the late home yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. J.A. Lumley officiated. Internment was in the New Cemetery by Undertaker W.H.H. Wyckoff Co. William N. Adiar and Co and others. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and two daughters; Mrs. John Huff of Bound Brook, Voorhees and William Durling of Trenton, and Mrs. John F. Rogers of Raritan. He was a faithful member of the Third Reformed Church, Raritan and was also a member of the Raritan Valley Council NO. 150, Junior Order of the United American Mechanics. 1880 Somerset County Federal Census shows Nathanial, Anna, Ellen J. (listed as Helen J.), Christopher, Mary, and William living in Franklin Township, NJ. (1st District, page 11)
