Listed on the 1850 Federal Census for East Coventry, Chester Co., PA, page 164/5 with parents James and Susan Hipple. Visitation number for family is #199. Age is 6 years old which would put birth year between 1843 and 1844. Listed on the 1860 Federal Census for East Coventry, Chester Co., PA, page 47. Lived with parents James and Susanna Fisher Hipple and siblings Elizabeth, Emma, and Henry Christman--son of her sister Sarah according to her father's will. Name is spelled Lucetta. Age is 17 which would put birth year between 1842 and 1843. Lusetta was named in her father's will on May 20, 1875 as "Lusetta Hipple". No spouse was listed or an indication that she was married or had son Harry James Wells born either 1868 or 1869. There was no update to the will of her father James Hipple before he died on March 12, 1879. His will was proved on April 12, 1879 and Lusetta Hipple is still Lusetta Hipple with no mention of a marriage or son Harry James Wells. Will of James Hipple (handwritten): I, James Hipple, of the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory, and understanding, do make and publish this, my last will and testament, hereby revokeing and makeing void all former wills by me at any time heretofore, made, as to such estate as it hath pleased God to entrust with me. I dispose of as follows to wit: First--I direct that all my property, real and personal be sold by my Executors hereafter named, as soon after my decease as may be convenient. at either public or private sale, as they may think best and to effect this, my intention. I do hereby vest in them (my executors) full power and authority to dispose of the same in fee simple, in as full a manner in ever respect, as I could myself do if living. Second--I give and bequeth unto my beloved wife Susan Hipple the Interest of Two Thousand Dollans dureing her natural life time in addition to the three hundred Dollars allowed by law, and what she may receive from the Mechanics Funeral Benefit Association, and order, to hold absolutely in lien of her dowery in my Estate. Third--I order my Executors to pay out of my Estate to my grandson Henry E. Christman when he is twenty one years of age, the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars without interest which I have in hand for him. Fourth--After all my debts and funeral expences are paid and the bequest and payment aforesaid, the remainder of my Estate, I give and bequeth to my children viz. B. F. Hipple, Sarah A. Hipple intermarried with William Thompson, Elmira Hipple intermarried with Lewis Shifely, Faithfull Hipple intermarried with Peter Yeager, A. J. Hipple, Mary Jane Hipple intermarried with Joseph Heebner, Elizabeth Hipple, LUSETTA HIPPLE {italics mine-jwl}, and Emma Hipple, share and share alike (equal shares) except Emma is to have one hundred Dollars more than any of the others, and Sarah is to have only the Interest of the share comeing to her, and after her death the principal to go and belong to her son Henry E. Christman. Fifth--I appoint my son in law Joseph Heebner to be a trustee to take charge of my daughter Sarah's share, pay her the interest annually dureing her life time, and after her deceasem to pay the principal to her son Henry E. Christman as directed. But in case said Henry E. Christman should die before his mother, Sarah, without leaving any legal heirs, then in that cas said share at the death of Sarah should be equally divided between the sisters and brothers of Sarah or their legal heirs or as assigned by said trustee. Sixth--I appoint my sons B. F. Hipple and A. J. Hipple trustees to take care of the two thousand Dollars bequeathed to my wife Susanna in liew of her dower, pay her the Interest annually and regularly, and at the decease of my wife, to pay or divide said two thousand Dolland equally between the legal heirs or children above named or their legal representatives. Except in Sarah's case, which is to go to her trustee to be disposed of the same as her first portion of my estate, and I do hereby contsitute and appoint my sons B. F. Hipple and A. J. Hipple Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I, James Hipple, the testator, have to this, my will, written, on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal this twentieth day of May, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy five, AD 1875.
