He is 8 years old, immigrating from Italy in 1927. He is listed with his father James age 40 occupation tile maker, mother Catena age 33, and siblings Mary age 5, Rosie age 4, and Lena age 9 months. Father James is listed as immigrating in 1909 so he must have gone back to to Italy as mother Catena and the children all are listed as immigrating in 1927 from Italy. Obit from the Courier News, Bridgewater, NJ, Friday, August 28, 1964 James Caffarelli, Jr. UNION--James Caffarelli Jr., of 318 Minute Arms Rd., a former Middlesex resident, died last night (Aug. 26, 1964) at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth of an apparent heart attach. Born in Sicily 43 years ago, he came to the United States at the age of seven. He had lived in Middlesex for a good many years before moving to Union eight years ago. Mr. Caffarelli was employed for the past three years as an instrument mechanic by the Whippany Paper Board Company. Prior to that he had worked for General Anilime and Film Corporation of Linden. He served with the Seabees during World War 2. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Stella Dubikowic Caffarelli; a stepdaughter, Miss Cynthia Oberg at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gioacchino Caffarelli Sr. of Middlesex; a brother, Anthony of Hagerstown, Md; and three sisters, Mrs. George E. Grothman of Vinton, Iowa, Mrs. Dudley P. Cook of Middlesex, and Mrs. R. Warren Hallsworth of Auburn, Calif. Services will be held at the McCraken Funeral Home in Union on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Rosedale Memoriall Park in Linden. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
