B Halderman age 70, no occupation, unknown relationship to the Hipples. The listing splits over two pages with Faithful at the bottom of pg. 331, and Lusetta at the top of pg. 332. ---------- Listed on the 1860 Chester Co., PA Census for East Coventry, page 47, age 52, with husband James age 51, occupation farmer and vending (unreadable), and children Lucetta age 17, Elizabeth age 13, Emma age 8, and grandson Henry Christman age 2 (son of daughter Sarah A. Hipple). Also living with them is a Margaret Ann Moorehouse (sp?) age 14, unknown relationship to the Hipple family. Listed on the 1870 Chester Co., PA Census for East Coventry, page 11, age 62, with husband James age 61, occupation Auctioneer, daughter Emma age 18, and grandson Henry Christman age 12 (son of her daughter Sarah) ---------- Listed on the 1880 Pennsylvania Federal Census for Chester County, Page 20, Supervisors District 2, ED #94, line 1, widow age 73 occupation "keeping house". With her is grandson Henry E. Christman age 22 occupation laborer (son of her daughter Sarah), daughter Emma Hipple age 28 occupation dressmaker, and grandson Harry Wells age 12 occupation farm laborer. Harry is the reported son of her daughter Lusetta Hipple although no marriage or birth records have been found, Lusetta is still listed as "Hipple" in her father James Hipple's will dated 1875, and Harry is not mentioned in James Hipple's will. Susanna died after the 1880 census. Obit: Mrs. Hipple, widow of James Hipple, was buried on June 11, at 10 o'clock, the interrment taking place at Zion's Church, below Spring City. Mrs. Hipple was over 80 years of age and was the mother of B. Frank Hipple, of Pottstown. She died at Columbia, PA where two daughters reside.
