a. Note:   Notes on...Clara Almeta Lloyd-Sheppard... Clara & her sibings where baptized in The Hay Bay Methodist Church is the oldest Methodist Building in Canada. Clara Lloyd married Chester Sheppard 19 July 1947 At The United Church of Canada, Point Anne Parish Church, Point Anne, Hastings Co., Ontario, Canada. 1953 they where baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). Very strong members, held many positions in the church. 3 of her sisters also joined (Betty, Ruth & Hazel). They had 5 children: Christine, Craig (died at birth), Steven, Della & Donalda 2006 Clara had good health most of her life up till 2006 when she had a breast removed because of cancer. Once while out canvassing for the Red Cross she feel down some stairs & broke her leg & foot bad. She was also in a bad car accident with all of her family. They brought a large double home on Point Anne Road, the last house near the gates of the plant. 1993 Sold the home & moved into an apartment which their daughter Chris & her husband Wayne Parrinder had built for them on the back side of their home at 18 Centre St., Belleville, Ontario. In the late 50's-early 60's they lived in Picton, Ontario. Then moved back to their home in Point Anne. 2006 September they moved in with their son Steven at 851 Slab Road, Ivanhoe, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada 2006 Nov 10 her husband Chester died. 2009 & 2011 She wrote & published 2 books, one of her poems & the other on the Town of Point Anne, Ontario, where she lived most of her life. 2010 Clara moved back into her Granny Flat behind Chris & Wayne's home. 2011 December 25 she made Christmas dinner along with all the fixings in her apartment for her daughter Della & husband Don Outram, along with their daughter Racheal Outram & her husband Frank Stevens & their daughter Lucy Stevens, born 3 March 2011. (4 Generations). 2012 April 7 Clara held her new great grandaughter Abby Outram Stevens beside her on her bed. Abby was born on 17 March 2012 in Burlington, Ontario to grandaughter Racheal Outram & Frank Stevens. Their other daughter Lucy was also there along with Racheal's parents Della Sheppard & Don Outram of Tory Hill, Ontario. Before Clara died she had seen or had had a phone call from all of her Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren at least once since she got sick. 2012 April 20 Clara died from bone cancer (she only knew about it less than 3 months) at home in her Granny Flat at 6:00am. in Belleville, Ontario. 2012 April 23 Clara's funeral was held at 1:00pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chaple on Palmer Road in Belleville. She is buried beside her husband Chester in the Belleville Cemetery on Front Street, Belleville. She loved to cook & made great pies. Up till their move to Stevens, they held most of the festive occations at their home along with all the family in attendance as could make it. The only job that Clara ever had, except looking after her much loved family was during the 2nd World War when Clara worked in a large factory on Sidney Street near Lewis St. Just south of the railroad on the east side in Belleville, Ontario building aircraft parts. The government paid the women 25 cents per hour & they worked a 12 hour shift. At the time Clara was living out in Point Anne, Ontario 8 miles east of Belleville with her parents who worked for The Canada Cement Company, the largest open pit mine in the world on the Bay of Quinte. Loving mother of Christine Parrinder (Wayne) of Belleville, Steven Sheppard of Ivanhoe, Della Outram (Donald) of Torrie Hill and Donalda Adams (Jeffrey) of Kingston. Ever remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Survived by her siblings Hazel Tillotson (Joseph) of Utah, Vivian Potts (Bruce) of Ottawa, Elmer Lloyd (Agnes) and Carman Lloyd, all of Belleville. Predeceased by brothers Herbert, Charles, Rupert and Almon Lloyd. Will be ever remembered by sister in law Sarah Lloyd. Predeceased by sisters in law; Alexandria Lloyd, Margaret Lloyd and Lucille Lloyd. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL LTD. 68 N. Front St. Belleville (613-968-5080) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monday, April 23rd, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Belleville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.
