She didn't enter the baby girl that died at birth on 18 Apr 1903. Uncle Alfred Westcott left all of his Grand- Nephews & Nieces Outram of the Peterborough family $100.00 each from the balance of his stocks. NO other info or name given. This the first that we see anything of them being married. We finally see them married is here.... in 1957 & on... by this time Eva has retired from teaching Canada, Voters List,Electoral District Waterford St., Peterborough, Ontario.. Leo & Eva (Outram) Copp of Peterborough where to adopt Joyce just after she was born, But for some unknown reason Leo never signed the papers. This was unknown to Joyce & the family till after Eva’s death, when the family found the unsigned papers in with some others. Joyce was always known as Joyce Copp. Work History... Grade school teacher all of her life. Well liked. Started the teacher exchange program in 1924 with an English teacher that wanted to teach in Canada for a year, so they traded schools and counties for one year. It is still in effect now. Taught Chinese people to speak English & read & write it in her own home. Church: Both Eva & Leo where very active member in The George Street United Church in Peterborough. Belonged to The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), & The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) now both joined as one and called just The "Y". Sent many a child to one of their many camps though out Ontario. The closes being either on Stony Lake, (YMCA Camp Kawartha for boys age 12 to 16), or on Moria Lake at Madoc, Hastings County, Ontario. Camp Quim-O-Ack for girls & boys (2 separate camps). She paid for both her brother Jim’s children Don & Helen way 4 times. They also took Don & Helen on some over night trips of interest, one being to Ottawa in 1965 when Skate Boards where just coming on the market. Hobbies... Loved to swim, after retiring traveling around the world on freighter ships during the winter months with her husband for many years. They would send post cards to family members from each port. She loved to paint either with water colours, or oils. She was also a golfer during the summer, and a snow skier during the winter months. Always very active in sports. They always owned a dog, boat & a car. Note of interest... She was also quite a driver, you never know if & how you would arrive. But you always did. She was always out doing something, hard to catch her at home. Involved in many community events. She loved to give formal dinner parties in her own large dinning room, always catered for. She was not known for her cooking. Illness... Got Alzheimer’s 1977, moved out of her home and into to Extend A Care in Peterborough until her death. After which her body was donated to Queen's University and later returned to Peterborough to be buried in Little Lake Cemetery.
