Note: Notes for Wm Jas Outram Born Montreal Family History Library Film #1375878 1865 m. Lavina Gaddye or Giddy Lived in Bowmanville, Ontario most of his life. After arriving in Bowmanville James worked for the Dominion Organ Factory at Bowmanville which closed down in the winter as it was not heated. He then made & repaired shoes. In later years he spent the winter with his son”s William's (Billy) family in Peterborough while his wife Lavina C. Louisa Gaddye-Outram went to Toronto to be with their daughter Lavina Rutter. On the 21 Apr 1903 she died there in Toronto, dew to transportation & other difficulties was buried there instead of being brought back to Bowmanville. Lavina is buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While working at the organ factory James made a large one piece rolling pin for his son William's (Billy) wife Helen Pugh-Outram. He also made a 4 leg high stool for her to sit on while working in the kitchen. Later these where passed down to their son James Wellington's wife Monetta Phillips-Outram, (Monetta had Jim cut about 4 inches off the the legs). Helen made her son James promise not to hit Monetta with it (he had a bad temper). Monetta in turn handed them down to their oldest son William James Donald Outram (b.1950) for his wife Della Marie Sheppard-Outram to use. On 31 March 2007 they both where lost in a devastating house fire in Tory Hill, Ontario that Don & Della owned.
