a. Note:   21, 1889, after a voyage of fourteen days. Jacob and Peter settled in Raabs, Ohio. Between 1885 and 1904, Jacob and Elizabeth had nine children: Nikolaus, Elizabeth Teresa, Jacob (Ja ke) Sylvester, Jr., Peter J., Joseph Peter, Francis Joseph, Wendell An thony, Rosella (Sal) Mary, and Barbara Frances. The family first lived on Bancroft Road near State Route 295. Then they moved to a house on Raab Road, about a quarter mile from Immaculate Conception church. Jac ob worked as a farmer. He became a naturalized US citizen on Nov. 4, 1 895. Elizabeth died at age 53 from pulmonary thrombosis. Jacob remarri ed to Anna Engel Trockur on April 24, 1918. She had been his housekeep er.
