a. Note:   e near Lanton Station, Moultrie Co., Ill., Jan. 15, 1900 of typhoid fever. She was married to Geo. H. Turner, Nov. 11, 1880. Six children have been born to them, three boys and three girls, all of whom with the sorrowing husband, survive to mourn the loss of a tender, loving mother and faithful wife. Mrs. Turner became a Christian in her girlhood, giving her heart, and the allegience of her life to Jesus Christ unreservedly. Neighbors and friends who knew her intimately speak in the highest terms of her beautiful and consistent Christian character, which found it's expression and demonstration, not in mere profession, but in a daily life of unselfish devotion to her home, her friends and her Heavenly Master. A marked tribute of the esteem in which she was held, was witnessed by the immense throng who attended the funeral services and followed her body to the grave. Her death was a very happy one, songs of salvation and praise were upon her lips during her illness, for like Enoch of old, she had the testimony before her departure that she pleased God. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence, by Rev. W. F. Stevenson, at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial at the Turner cemetery." Obituary - January 19, 1900 in the Lovington Reporter.
