North family and 3 others in New Britain, Hartford Co., CT (page 124). In 1880 he lived in Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT (page 553) with the Caroline Darby household. Edwin and Isabell lived in Bridgeport, CT at 171 Barnum Street in 1881. Edwin was listed as a die maker. They moved to Denver, CO in 1884. In 1886 he was a machinist for W. E. Scott & Co., residing at 386 27th Street, Denver. In 1887 he had move to 1701 Champa. In 1888 he was a foreman for th Economic Light Co., residing at 2239 Franklin. In 1889 he was a machinist for Dimon & Johnston. In 1890 to 1893 he lived at 2623 High Street, Denver and was a foreman for Dimon & Johnson Manufacturing. In 1894 he worked for Dimon & Adams Mfg. In 1895 and 1896 he was a foreman for Vulcan Iron Works. In 1897 he moved to 764 S. Grant Avenue, moving to 824 S. Sherman Way in 1898. In 1902 he went to work for F. M. David Iron Works. In 1903 he established the Doig-Stivers Mfg. Co. at 1932 Curtis, Denver, in partnership with John O. Stivers; in 1905 they moved the business to 1829 Arapahoe. In 1906 Edwain moved the family to 2128 California. In 1907 he went back to work for the Vulcan Iron Works. In 1908 he roomed at 1637 Court Place. In 1909 Edwin was an electrician for Queen City Vibrator Co. and roomed at 7 19th Avenue. In 1910 he was a machinist for L. B. Mattison & Co. In 1911 he had a machine shop at 1120 California and roomed at 639 17th Avenue. In 1912 he ran E. M. Doig & Co. at 1449 Court Place, rooming at 1415 Cleveland Place. In 1913 and 1914 he roomed at 1415 Cleveland Place, moving to 2330 Glenarm Place in 1915 and 853 Ogden in 1916. Annual Report of the Commissioner of Patents for the year 1892: Doig, Edwin M. (See Blake, Smith, and Doig) following: Blake, Isaac E., G. E. Smith, and E. M. Doig, Denver, Colo. Lamp, Patent #482,290, recorded Sept. 6, 1892. Doig, Edwin M. assignor of one-fourth to W. J. McKerley, Denver Colo. Lubricator for trolleys, Patent #466,737, recorded Jan. 5, 1892. Edwin loved to go camping and trout fishing. Edwin worked as a mechanic, and owned his own machine shop in Denver until he retired in 1916. Notice in "The Trenton Times," Trenton, NJ, 24 Aug 1899: Edward M. Doig and son, of Denver, Colorado, who have been visiting Mr. Doig's brother-in-law, ex-Councilman Charles H. Fenimore, have gone to Bridgeport, Conn., his former home. In 1919 the family moved to Los Angeles, CA, and then to San Diego, CA for a year. In 1920 they returned to Los Angeles. In later years Edwin like to play cribbage. He was independent and refused to use a cane when he had difficulty walking. Obituary: "Final Services Held for Edwin Doig, Local Resident - Funeral services were held February 28 at the Southwest mortuary for Edwin Murray Doig, 88, a resident of the Southwest for a number of years. He was formerly of Denver, Colorado. Surviving Mr. Doig are a son Edwin Fennamore; two grandsons, Albert Edwin and Frank Finnamore; and a grandson Dale Edwin, all of the Southwest, and Arthur Murray Doig, son, and William Murray Doig, grandson, both of San Diego." Edwin was cremated.
