a. Note:   eper. In 1880 he was a clerk in a stove store living with his brother Leonard in New Britain, CT (page 445). From 1888 to 1891 he was a bookkeeper at 351 Main Street, boarding at 183 Main. In 1892 he became a bookkeeper for the New Britain City Tax Collector at the Stanley Building at 338 Main, boarding then at 23 Cedar, moving in 1893 to 100 W. Main. In 1900 he boarded at 26 S. High Street, New Britain (page 187) with Mary B. Corbin. In 1905 he was a bookkeeper at 351 Main Street, New Britain and lived at the above address with Leonard Doig and Leonard E. Doig. In 1912 he lived in New Britain. In a 1917 militery questionaire he reported being a bookkeeper and telegrapher, but with hip trouble. In 1919 he lived in Beford, IA. He was a member of the New Britain B.P.O.E., Lodge No. 937. In 1920 he was an inmate at National Home of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Bedford, Bedford Co., VA. He did not marry.
