a. Note:   ear. He played basketball in high school. During his junior and senior years John and Anna Colburn, his teacher, took Marvin into their home to help him finish school. Marvin served in WWII in Company C of the 25th Tank Battalion in the 14th Armored Division. Marvin worked in farm tractor sales and owned San Joaquin Tractor & Implement in Stockton, CA for 8 years. He later worked for J. C. Penny auto parts sales, and as in insurance salesman. He was popular with his constant smile and famous for his homemade ice cream. The Fresno Bee, 18 Oct 1964: FB Agent's Award Marvin Koontz, agent for the Cal-Farm Insurance Companies in Fresno County, recently received honors as a member of the companies' top producing team. He was one of the 10 highest producers of life insurance in the group during the past year. Cal-Farm Insurance Companies, affiliate of the California Farm Bureau Federation, operates in California, Washington and Nevada. The awards were made at the annual sales conference in Estes Park, Colo.
