In 1870 Josiah farmed in Clitheral, Otter Trail Co., MN with his wife Ana and children Cary and Samuel; the value of his real estate was $145 and personal assets of $150. On 1 Sept 1871 Josiah acquired 116.2 acres in T133N, R40W, 5th PM Base Line, through the Alexandria, MN Land Office. In 1880 Josiah farmed in Park Township, Jefferson Co., CO (page 287) with his wife Anna and children Carrie, Samuel, Elizabeth, Charles, William, Josiah, and Ernest, and a farm hand and nephew George Darby (25 NJ). In 1900 Josiah farmed in Grant Precinct, Jefferson Co., CO (page 258) with his wife Annie and children Carrie, Samuel, and Josiah; he reported having 7 children with 6 living. In 1910 he lived with the family of his son Josiah in Grant. "Josiah Albertson, formerly a properous farmer in Ralston, who has beenin Florida for the past year for his health, died September 12. Four sons and two daughters survive him." "The remains of Josiah Albertson, who died in Florida some time ago, were shipped to his old home at Ralston and will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery."
