In 1880 Samuel farmed in Center Township, Cloud Co., KS (page 272) with his wife Martha M. and chilren Alice E., Carrie A., Burton W., Jacob A., Eddie C., Artensie M., and Charles W. He still lived in Center Township in 1900 (page 35) with his wife Martha M. and chidren Jacob A., Walter C., and Wilber. A Mancha Hass died in Swan Township on 19 May 1884 at age 1 year, 9 months, and 23 days.
