The Courier (Waterloo, IA), 22 May 1915: INVESTIGATING CASE OK INSANE STRANGER Clerk of the Courts Pettit today received a letter from Milton Koons of Stockton, Kan., relative to Koons' brother, R. W., who was taken into custody as an insane patient this week and who is awaiting disposition by the commission. The insane man had served as night, watch for the Hugo Bros. circus. He boarded the Illinois Central branch train at Cedar Fails and when the conductor came to get this ticket he became frightened when the trainman found that the passenger had neither ticket nor money. In order to prevent Koons from leaping off the train it was necessary to lock the doors of the coach. Koons Imagines he is a snake charmer. He carried a bag and in it he imagines there Is a reptile. The patient was born in Iowa and is supposed to have an interest in lands in Louisa county. This supposition will he Investigated by the clerk of the courts.
