He participated in battles in New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, and Luzon, Philippines, earning the a number of medals. He was discharged on 16 Sept 1945 in Santa Ana, CA. Homer came to California in 1946, moving to San Jose in 1951. They lived at 1566 Davis Street, San Jose, and later at 1420 Annapolis Way, San Jose. He became a plasterer and carpenter. During his last 6 years he was a highway landscaper for the State of California. He is remembered as a smiling and pleasant man. Note: Homer was a dairyman in Woodston.
