Notes
a. Note:   In the Paris city ledgers, Phil Haley found several handwritten notations that included C. A. Minton: 1. On May 12, 1905 he asked for $1.00 from the City Council for livery for a team of horses he had put up - denied. 2. On July 9, 1906 he addressed the City Council and told them that if he could not enforce the loose livestock law on the public streets, that law should be taken off the books (resolution not mentioned). 3. On May 11, 1908 he is shown as an attendee (as Chief of Police) of the meeting of the City Council. A copy of the minutes is in Jeff's files. His death certificate shows that he died of "uremia following operation". Chuck Fisher, in a telecon 27Dec2006, stated that his parents had bought the old Minton home at 50 N 28th in Paris from Kate Minton. They had obtained a loan from the partner who owned the livery business of the late Charles Minton. The livery had been at 18th and Bonham streets in Paris and Phil Haley saw the old building still in operation in late 2006. At the time of the 1930 census, the Ihlefeldts lived at 50 N 28th as renters. Perhaps the new livery owner was the legal owner at that time.
