Note: In the City Directories she is in the 1919 living at 50 N 28th, Paris with her children George, Thelma, Helen, Flora and Charles. Her obituary reads: THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, October 28, 1959. 'Mrs. Katherine Minton, 84, widow of Charlie A. Minton. a longtime Paris police chief, died Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. at Watson Nursing Home here. She had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. A. H. Hutchison, 600-6th SE. The funeral, Thursday at 2 p.m., will be held at Fry-Gibbs chapel, and interment made in Evergreen Cemetery. Born in Fannin County, July 5, 1975, Mrs. Minton was a daughter of the late H. H. Sawyer and his wife, who was Miss Martha Harrison, a direct descendant of President Benjamin Harrison. She came to Paris as the bride of Mr. Minton, who, after 17 years as city marshal or police chief, was associated with his brother, the late George Minton, in the Paris Livery and Transfer Company. Charlie Minton's death occurred in 1915. Mrs. Minton leaves these children; Mrs. Hazel Fisher, Ft. Myers, Fla.; Mrs. Thelma Hadra, Midland; Mrs. Clarence Pyeatt and Charles A. Minton, Villegreen, Colo.; Mrs. O. H. Ailey, and Mrs. Hutchinson here; Mrs. Tom Maben, Mrs. Fred Haley and John H. Minton, all of Ft. Worth; George Minton and Jack Minton, Dallas, besides 25 other descendants, including one great-great-grandchild. Note: the obit published at FindAGrave has her father's name as Holman Hellender Sawyer and her mother's name as Miss Martha Jane Harrison - has someone altered the original? They had lived in Plainview, Hale Co., Texas as late as April 1935. At some time after that she moved to Fort Worth and Mr. Ihlefeldt went to the Masonic Home in Arlington, Texas. She took the name of Minton back at some point in time about then.
