a. Note:   He was a farmer at the time of the 1880 census of South Windsor and nearby lived Sarah (Green) Tudor and her two daughters. At the time of the 1900 census he and his son were in Gardiner, MT as quartz miners. He was again farming at the time of the 1910 census of CT. In 1920 he was widowed and still had two of his children and two grandchildren living with him in South Windsor, Hartford, Conn. There were also two servants and one of their children enumerated in the household. They lived on his farm. His newspaper death notice indicates he was involved in the Civil War. Confirmed in the publication "Connecticut Headstone Inscriptions, Vol 45".
