Note: N8048 BIOGRAPHY: Against Oblivion: History of Calhoun county, Georgia Christian Stewart (1830-1913), sister of Charlotte m. Daniel B. Norton in Marion co. on 12/31/1848. Later they moved into this area. There is a chilling story in the family about how a farm worker slipped into the home one hot, humid night and murdered Daniel B. Norton and "Little John" (by a former marriage). Christian survived though she was hit in the head with the axe and carried the scar on her forehead "near the parting of her pretty auburn colored hair." Survivors were baby Eleanor Missouri (who was tucked away in a trundle bed) and Charles P. Norton. Christian eventually m. Samuel Todd who was killed in the Battle of Griswoldville, in the Civil War. She had two Todd children. Then, she m. Gideon Pritchett (often mentioned in Mars Hill records) and is most affectionately remembered by later generations as "Grandma Pritchet." dau Eleanor Missouri Norton m. Andrew Coleman Sanders soon after his return from the Civil War. One of their sons, Kenneth Norton Sanders, m. Annie Estelle Hodges.
