Text:   According to my records, David Cobb died 27 June 1839, at Cave Springs, Madison Co. Ala. and is buried at Cobb's Cemetery, Cobb's Bridge. David Cobb was my great, great, great, great grandfather

a. Note:   N80 David and wife Martha Bryant Cobb and some of the children migrated to AL from Rhea County, TN. They were from somewhere in No. Carolina before that.Their ancestors were well-known in VA.
  David Cobb, and his sons, Bryant and W.R.W., first settled in Madison County, AL in 1809. Shortly thereafter, David Cobb established Cobb's Mill, which later became Butler's Mill. It no longer exists, but you can find it on current maps. It is near New Hope, AL, and very close to the junction of current Madison, Jackson, and Marshall Counties. David and Bryant Cobb both owned land in Madison County. Bryant later acquired land in Marshall County. W.R.W. owned land in Jackson County.
