  John Franklin and his family lived on a 80 acre farm that is at the corner of Josann and Heinke road in Mabelvale, which is now in Shannon Hills. Their farm was located just barely in Saline County, and is approximately one mile, northeast, of Olive Hill Cemetery.
  According to Walter Red, John Franklin had a good reputation, never cursed or used bad language. Didn't drink or use tobacco. He was a steward in the Methodist Church, and taught singing in his church. He was a general farmer and beekeeper who at his death had 75 hives.
