a. Note:   N457 The 1910 Pulaski census indicates that he and Lula lived at 1900 Pike, Big Rock, Township and that neither could read or write. Charley sold vegetables for a living in 1910. In 1920, they were living at 2500 W. 9th Street. In his later years, he was selling fish for a living. According to his daughter Mildred, Charley had a drinking problem after his wife left him and the children. However, according to Mildred, he always did well financially until he began drinking.
