a. Note:   N487 Ella is listed on the 1900 AR Census as living in the home of her parents, Charles A. and Isabella (Belle) Avery. They were living in Pulaski Co., Ellis Township. They were farmers whom owned their own farm. Belle indicated she had eight living children out of 11. Charles was born February 1847 and Belle, August 1848, both in South Carolina. There was also a brother, Henry, born June 1882, still living at home. All were able to read and write. (In 1900, Ellis TS had 108 living there. Among some of the Avery's neighbors were, Thomas J. Pritchard, his two sons, Albert and Martin, John Ellis, and Joseph Lewellen. These are all related to the Pritchards.)
  Also living in their home, in 1920, were two children of Ella's brother, Henry Avery. Hugan J. Avery, age 2, and Thatcher H. Avery, age 1. Henry was listed on the 1910 AR Census, in Bauxite, as working as a laborer on the RR, and his wife, Mary E., age 22, doing laundry, with their two children. Something must have happened to this couple for them to have had their children living with Luther and Ella.
