Note:   N40452 Azariah is listed on Madison County, Alabama Census in 1830, 1840 and on 1850 census Azariah Cobb, Age 54, birth North Carolina, Wife, Lucinda 43 F., Ten nessee, Isacc 3, alabama, Lemer Midlin 31m, William Midlin 19 m. Per Mary Morr is Cobb, Azariah was living until at least 1873 per census. His three daught ers, Martha Cobb Conner, Mary Cobb King and another unk name came from Texas to his funeral where their cousin, Bryant Cobb, took their photo for which sh e has a picture of. IT was taken out at the old Cobb Cemetery that was then owned by Azariah's son, Isaac at Cobb's Ford. Per Mary Morris Cobb, reresearch indicates that Azariah's father was David Cobb's brother John or William, un surse if one of them or Stephen. I have been unable to find a John Or Willia m in North Carolina in either Dobb's, Wayne or Edgecomb counties, just a Step hen who was approximately close to age as David Cobb. They are on the census by each other. I feel more likely that he was Azariah's father. I have als o found other research at the Library to indicate most likely Stephen, though Azriah and Jerusha had a son they named William, and no Stephen. Family nam es and last names were often used with children as in Stancil after his mot her's maiden name. Azariah Cobb owned numerous properties in Alabama for which I I have the patents: 8/1/1831 Huntsville 79.9 acres 12/1/1826 Tuscaloos a 79.96 acres 9/20/1839 Tuscaloosa 39.98 acres 7/1/1831 Huntsville 80.13 ac res 8/1/1939 Huntsville 40.14 acres
