Clay got a 2nd class land cert. of 640 acres in Elli s Co., Tx. and recieved a 2nd class land cert of 640 acres in Washington Co., Tx. 12/6/1838 and in Leon Co., Tx. 10/14/1846 He was JP in Robertson Co, Tx . from 1844 to annexation. He was on the first Petit Jury in leon Co., Tx. At the Bold Springs Cem., near the town of West, Texas, there are 2 rocks tha t have C. Cobb hand carved on them. We believe this is where Clay, Sr. and C harlotte Cobb are buried. There is also a rock with BWC hand carved, we beli eve this is their son Brynat Williamson Cobb. Another rock has M.E.R. This could be daughter Miley Elizabeth Cobb Roberts, There is a rock with nothing on it next to a rock with W.C. Mauk. With all this is Clay's son David C. C obb and Carrie.
